Young Texans of the American Cancer Society (YTACS) is a network of motivated professionals collectively working together to raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society’s mission of saving lives, celebrating lives, and leading the fight for a world without cancer!
Membership Requirements:
- $1,000 (give or get) fundraising minimum for YTACS-related initiatives
- Obtain 1 item for silent auction or raffle use
- Purchase tickets to signature events
- Serve as a community ambassador
- Participate in a mission-based volunteer activity
- Help recruit new members to the board

VP of Operations
• Manage event timelines
• Oversee event budget
• Develop a stewardship plan to ensure longevity of event success

• Work closely with VP of Marketing on social campaign
• Work closely with ACS staff partner on event website and timely execution of event contracts
• Inform Executive team of status and progress at board meetings

• Responsible for helping plan/organize board member happy hours

Event Chair(s)
• Create a unique and impactful look and feel for one YTACS signature event
• Meet (and hopefully exceed!) event goal through sponsorships and fundraising
• Manage a committee of event volunteers
Fundraising
VP of Fundraising
• Develop strategy to support annual fundraising goal for YTACS: corporate
sponsorships, 3rd party give back events, and additional opportunities
• Guide general members on best practices to achieve give or get responsibility
• Work with VP of Membership to secure sponsorships for member happy hours
• Inform Executive team of status and progress at board meetings
Fundraising Impact Committee Member
• Assist in fundraising outside of our signature events (corporate sponsorships, 3rd party give back events, etc)
Marketing
VP of Marketing
• Develop strategy for annual social campaign: web, social media and event based
• Work with Event chairs to develop event-based social media content
• Work with Membership team to develop a monthly member email
• Inform Executive team of status and progress at board meetings
Marketing Impact Committee Member
• Responsible for creating content for social media
• Expand YTACS’ reach and brand recognition
• Secure local influencer, print and PR relationships
Membership
VP of Membership
• Develop strategy to recruit new members and retain current members
• Oversee application process for those interested in becoming a YTACS board member
• Schedule interviews for potential board members with YTACS Co-Presidents
• Manage committee members responsible for organizing member socials
• Work with Marketing team to develop a monthly member email
• Inform Executive team of status and progress at board meetings
Membership Impact Committee Member
• Responsible for helping plan/organize member socials
• Recruit new members and retain current members
Mission
VP of Mission
• Work with our ACS staff partner to ensure ACS’ mission is represented in all aspects of YTACS
• Ensure YTACS members are well informed with volunteer opportunities and additional ways to support ACS outside of YTACS’ signature events
• Work closely with the Executive Team to ensure the mission is well represented (i.e. Event Chairs to create mission moments at signature events)
• Inform Executive team of status and progress at board meetings
Mission Impact Committee Members
• Support the VP of Mission to ensure ACS’ mission is fully integrated into YTACS activities and members are informed of additional ways to engage with ACS
